Thanks for your patience…it has been such busy month with holiday travels and family.    I decided to move to a more manageable site which means I can focus more on photos and writing rather than formatting.

You will find all of my earlier content and I have just finished my first post on our adventures in India.

Copenhagen edulis: Coffee Collective at Torvehallerne

October 30, 2011

This is where most of my monthly coffee budget goes to, The Coffee Collective.  They opened a location in Copenhagen’s new market, Torvehallerne, where they have a one of a kind espresso machine from Kees van der Westen called ‘Spirit‘.  But, I still prefer their cozier location on Jægersborggade.

And a few other photos of the market, busy as always…

Copenhagen edulis: Paté Paté

October 29, 2011

Paté Paté is where Tora and I spent numerous sunny afternoons this summer, sipping wine and (strong) beers.  Situated in the middle of Vesterbro’s Kødbyen (the old butchers’ district),  you can still see the charming old features in the interior and exterior.   They carry a unique beer selection including one of my favorites from California (Lagunitas Brewing Company).

A miniature Copenhagen

October 28, 2011

I was recently exploring the Vesterbro district of Copenhagen, while Tora was away visiting Quebec, and discovered this miniature Copenhagen.  It is amazing I never noticed it before as I have been on the street so many times.

Summer’s last sunset

October 27, 2011

Here are a few photo’s from our last summer-like day a few weeks back.  Tora and I took a stroll around Christianshavn and then into Christania where there were lots of people taking in the festivities for its 40th birthday.

Tal Uf Tal Ab, Robert Frank

October 19, 2011

Recently browsing one of my favorite London book sellers (Magma Books), I purchased a small photo collection titled Tal Uf Tal Ab by Robert Frank.  He is well known for his lifetime in film and photography, including his infamous Rolling Stones tour documentary (link), his photo collection The Americans and work with the likes of Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue.

To my surprise , I found in his biography that he chose to settle down in Mabou, Cape Breton Island (my home).  In Tal Uf Tal Ab, he captures little bits of his life in Cape Breton and New York.

Sunday was a quiet day, but full of golden Autumn light.  My morning started with a stroll through Frederiksberg Have:

with music that moved me:

..followed by a captivating book in a cozy cafe.
